Peptide is a category, not a specification

Cosmetic peptides can be signal peptides, carrier complexes, enzyme-related peptides or expression-care peptides, among other types. A marketing category does not define the molecule or the supplied grade.

Require the INCI, product code, physical form, active concentration and analytical basis. For copper complexes, also confirm how copper content and peptide identity are controlled.

Compare on active basis

A supplier may sell pure or high-assay powder, a dilute aqueous solution, a glycerin-based blend or an encapsulated delivery form. A 5% use level of a supplier solution is not 5% neat peptide.

Before price comparison, convert the recommended use level and cost to the same active basis. This prevents major errors in COGS and formulation design.

Build the formula around the grade

Peptide stability can be affected by pH, heat, oxidation, chelation, preservation, light, packaging and interactions with other actives. Generic internet advice cannot replace grade-specific guidance and stability testing.

Add the peptide at the stage recommended in the TDS, monitor the relevant visual and analytical attributes, and include the actual packaging system in stability work.

  • pH window
  • Maximum process temperature
  • Solubility and order of addition
  • Chelator and reducing-agent compatibility
  • Preservative and packaging compatibility

Protect the cosmetic claims boundary

Topical cosmetic peptides should be described with appearance and conditioning language supported for the finished formula. Avoid injection comparisons, medical outcomes and drug-like mechanism claims.

Third-party trade names refer to specific commercial products and evidence packages. Do not use them for an unrelated generic INCI grade or imply equivalence without authorization.

Tender's peptide shortlist

Copper Tripeptide-1 fits premium renewal and vitality concepts; Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 fits expression-line and smoothing concepts; Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate fits precision smoothing and multi-peptide concepts.

The shortlist is deliberately small so identity, documents and formulation questions remain visible before a sample is requested.
